LANP Day at the Legislature * All Nurse Practitioners Welcome *

Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm

Fellow NPs,

A few weeks ago we sent members a "Save the Date" for the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners Annual NP Day at the Legislature. Since then, we have developed a preliminary agenda and meeting details for what we are planning to be a valuable and productive day.

NP Day at the Legislature provides an opportunity for advanced practice nurses to talk with legislators from their community about the important role of the nursing profession and its impact on healthcare in Louisiana. At NP Day, nurses are able to attend committee hearings at the Capitol and network with colleagues and legislators.

Based on member feedback, this year, we are taking NP Day up a notch! We are contacting registrants, in advance, to schedule appointments with their legislators or at the very least, to notify their legislators that they will be in the Capitol on March 30th to represent Nurse Practitioners. We are also adding a pre-function health policy update at the Camelot Club in Downtown Baton Rouge. Pending approval, LANP has applied for 2 CE credits from AANP for this pre-function session.  This session accommodates up to 60 attendees and will be first come, first serve!
