Shantell Jackson-Burns is a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner who is a clinical instructor and the program coordinator of the BSN to DNP PMHNP program at Louisiana State University School of Nursing. She teaches the APEA Review Course & Clinical Update for PMHNPs. Dr. Jackson-Burns practices also practices at Ally Mental Health, a private mental healthcare practice she established in 2019. Her 13+ years of PMHNP practice include positions in correctional healthcare and an acute mental health unit. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and several national and state NP organizations, including the Association of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
