As you may know, due to time constraints, HB1215 was not heard in the Senate Health and Welfare Committee on Wednesday.    There is only one more opportunity for our bill to be heard in committee before the close of the 2014 Legislative Session.

It is very important that constituents of the Senate Health and Welfare Committee members contact their Senator and request that HB1215 be heard and supported in committee on Tuesday, May 27th.

This bill is very important to all Nurse Practitioners and their ability to practice in Louisiana.  Medicine continues to attempt to regulate NP practice by regulating the physicians who collaborate with NPs.  House Bill 1215 would stop this effort.

Ask your collaborators to contact your Senator on the Health and Welfare Committee.  If the legislators hear from physicians in support of HB1215, this could be very impactful on the success of the bill.

The LANP Health Policy Committee has identified key talking points for your reference.  Please continue to use the same language in the attached documents when contacting your legislator.

Members of this committee and their contact information can be found here: http://senate.la.gov/Health&Welfare/Assignments.asp

Please continue to support these efforts and protect your practice by contacting your legislators today!
