Posted over 4 years ago by Brooke Campo

The Office of Public Health and the Office of Behavioral Health will be hosting the Louisiana Opioid Action Summit in Slidell, LA on September 4-6, 2019.

This statewide summit will empower communities to put strategies in prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery into action to reduce opioid abuse and overdoses in Louisiana. Presenters and panelists will share real solutions to the opioid crisis that will offer opportunities to better understand the risk factors and overdoses and identify strategies to reduce opioid abuse rates in our communities through brainstorming, idea sharing, and the development of action steps for strategies to combat the opioid crisis. Attendees will learn what is working on the local level, successful models and policies that can be tailored to fit your community, and barriers to bringing proven interventions to scale.

This event is free and open to the public.

We are inviting providers, advocates, law enforcement, first responders, community coalitions, public health and prevention officials, lawmakers, counselors and social workers, peer groups, faith-based leaders, survivors, and people in recovery. Attached below is a Save the Date!
