Request for Research Survey Participation: Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Technology Use by NPs

Fellow Nurse Practitioner,

Please represent the Louisiana NP workforce strongly and share your input in this survey regarding the use of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) technology by Nurse Practitioners in everyday practice. There are no identified risks for participation in this study. Data collected is confidential and it was approved by LSU Health Sciences Center IRB (#9509). Findings will be reported as group findings.

The study name is, Use of Point-of-Care Ultrasound by Nurse Practitioners in the Gulf Coast Region. This research study is being performed at Louisiana State University Health Sciences-New Orleans, Center School of Nursing by Drs. Leanne Fowler (Principle Investigator), Alison H. Davis, Jessica Landry, and Ms. Carly Pigg. The Gulf Coast Region includes: Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida.

The purpose of the research study is to determine the current use of and need for formal POCUS training for NPs. All practicing NPs in the Gulf Coast Region are eligible for participation. Participation is completely voluntary and responses will remain anonymous.
