Melissa Nunn is an adjunct faculty member in the Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program at LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing. Dr. Nunn is a pediatric nurse practitioner who received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from LSU Health School of Nursing in 2019 and her Master’s of Science in Nursing degree from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in 2015. She is currently employed as a nurse practitioner in the emergency department and is the Director of Advance Practice at Children’s Hospital. Before completing her nurse practitioner education, Dr. Nunn served as a pediatric nurse at Children’s Hospital for 5 years after graduating from LSUHSC School of Nursing’s CARE Program. Dr. Nunn currently holds both pediatric primary care and pediatric acute care nurse practitioner certifications from the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB). Dr. Nunn is an active member and holds leadership positions in both the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) and the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners (LANP). She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society.
