Nurses Day at the Capitol

Proposed agenda (you can join in at any point)

1. 8:00-8:15  Arrival
   1. Parking is between N 3rd Street and North River Road in between Capitol Annex and the Claiborne Building OR parking area along North River Road.
   2. You will need to go through Security including metal detectors on the ground floor "under the steps" of the capitol
   3. Meet by the cafeteria
2. 9:00 am   Attend/observe either the Senate or the House Health and Welfare Committee meeting which begins at 9 am. 
3. 11:00 am  Lunch
4.  12:00 pm Group Photo on the Capitol Steps
5.  2:00 pm  House Floor Reading of Honoring Nurses Proclamation
6.  3:00 pm  Senate Floor Reading of Honoring Nurses Proclamation
7.  4-5 pm  Networking Social with Legislators (Courtyard of the Legislative Barracks)

Further planning:

1. Please use this link https://www.legis.la.gov/legis/FindMyLegislators.aspx to identify your State Representatives and Senator.
2. Schedule meetings with your legislators 1-2 weeks prior visiting the capitol. Email their assistant and let them know the date that you will be at the Capitol and request a meeting with them.

Dress:

1. Wear professional dress, comfortable shoes and your white lab coat. If you have a NP pin, please wear that as well

Hotels:  If you plan to stay overnight the night before or the night after. These are the hotels were most of us usually stay

3.  Hotel Indigo: Corner of Lafayette and Convention Streets
