Salary Information

$75,000 - $105,000 / year

Position Description

Responsibilities Include

  • Conducts physical and mental status exams and collects medical and social history.
  • Accurately perform problem-focused evaluations of medical and psychiatric problems with treatments including medication prescribing and instructions on life-style changes.
  • Prescribes medication within the limits of the APRN license, collaborative agreement, and hospital policy.
  • Coordinates the transfer of psychiatry patients between emergency units, inpatient units, and affiliated hospitals.
  • Coordinates discharge care with outside agencies and group homes.

 Qualifications

  • Substance abuse background.
  • Louisiana Nurse Practitioners License, unexpired and unrestricted.
  • 2 years of mental health nursing experience.
  • Must be able to read, write, type, and speak English, as well as, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills with minimal guidance.
